Literature Text
You smile yet you're broken,
and you feel like giving in.
Sometimes you want to tell them,
but you'll never let them win.
They don't know their words cut you,
More so than any blade.
You cover the scars with layers,
For they'll never truly fade.
You always want to complain,
and hurt them just the same.
No matter how many times they say it,
You know you're not to blame.
They never seem to notice,
How much they're hurting you.
Even though you give them hints,
They still don't have a clue.
Why do they always do this?
That's the question that you ask,
and when there comes no answer,
You replace your happy mask.
and you feel like giving in.

there are galaxies in your eyes
There's a universe
inside of you-
it's been there quite a while,

and I've heard
there's billions of galaxies
scattered in the sky,
but I swear
at least half of them
are resting in your eyes.

Deep Blue Eyes
Deep blue eyes, set in a young face, open onto an old soul.
Bright gleams show intelligence, a sharp wit, a capability for deep understanding.
A love for life, a deep appreciation for simple pleasures, they cause those sparkling sapphires to shine even brighter when your face creases in a smile or in laughter.
There is a light inside of you that shines like the sun. A flickering fire that warms my heart when I see you glowing with joy.
I know that you could fly so high, you could take your place among the stars.
But there is also a deep shade behind those eyes. It is the kind of sadness that is shared by everyone that is forced to grow u

When I was six a phoenix

Underwater I grabbed for fire.
Like Icarus, I was reaching

cradles searing scars.
He was death,
I was the bird.

On my fifteenth birthday, the boy
with stars on his fists and Saturn’s
rings in his eyes told me I was pretty.
It was the first time

I wrote this after I found out that I hadn't won the closure contest. I was just in a sad, emotional poetry mood. When in doubt, turn your emotions into art, yes?
