Literature Text

That pile of carcasses splayed on the track,
Was filled with hopes and dreams.
Lost love and lost potential,
Much more precious than they once had seemed.

Bad timing or bad karma,
The cruelest twist of fate.
A simple turn of someone's head
Or an act spurred on by hate.

The innocent and dishonest
Blend together in this mess.
A tangled web of memories
and miseries never confessed.

The pour of tears on faces,
In the light and in the dark.
The pain of those who knew them not,
and of those who once had felt that spark.

A glow pulled gently from their eyes,
The cold ones and the warm,
Into the hands of someone else
and at first it does no harm.

The effect is not a ripple,
but an earthquake in disguise.
Leaving shattered trails of things that were
On streets cobble stoned with lies.

So we close with not a single loss,
but that of many men.
We're left with shells of humans passed
Just abandoned bodies in the end.
I felt that this was something that had to not only be written, but explained. This can be viewed as two things. First, a horrible accident. Second, bullying. In both cases in the poem it ends, ultimately, in death and loss. I know, such a shocker for me to write something like that. But the point here wasn't just to kill off a bunch of people and write something overly tragic and depressing. I wanted to make a point.
Bullying is a large problem, and when you do it, you could be taking someone's life away. Not directly, but it could feel that way to them, and sometimes people just can't think of another way to deal with their problems.

So here's the explanation:
Stanza One Lines one and two can be considered as someone's mind or as an actual accident. Lines three and four can be how people lose what's within themselves in extreme cases of bullying, and therefore are no longer really themselves, or about how you never really know how much something matters to you until it's gone.
Stanza Two Lines one and two refer to being in the wrong place at the wrong time in either incident, and doing certain things that could push things off the edge for you. Lines three and four talk about how something as simple as not watching where you're going could cause everything to end, and about how sometimes people do horrible things out of spite.
Stanza Three The innocent referred to in line one would be the victims, and the dishonest the bullies or cause of the tragedy. Line two states that sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the two in times of strife. Lines three and four hint at how people need someone to speak with or some way of venting, or they may just leap off the edge all by themselves.
Stanza Four This stanza is devoted to talking about how the loss of someone, whether it be emotionally or physically, can affect everyone else around them, even people they never knew.
Stanza Five This is speaking of how life and positivity, warmth, and happiness can be pulled from people due to something that most likely seems harmless at first. A lot of time's, it's a gradual thing.
Stanzas Six and Seven Things have much more effect than you think they will, on more people than you think it will. It can cause so many problems.

I know this is definitely not a best case scenario, but I felt something had to be written tonight and when this came out, I felt that I had to explain to you guys and myself. Please, just think before you do anything. You never know how it may change and affect others.

Even just showing up in someone's sight can change your life forever.
